This makes sense when you think about it, doesn’t it? Every business tells its viewers that it is the best – or that it serves the finest – or that it’s better value than anyone else. It, as my mother would have said, ‘blows its own trumpet’.
And of course it does, that’s advertising. But most people know that people are smarter than that. Just because Ford Motor Company tells you that their trucks are better than Chevy’s trucks, it doesn’t make it true, does it? That’s why advertisers have traditionally used celebrity endorsements, advertorials and customer testimonials.
But people believe brands and businesses even less on the internet and on social media that they do in traditional advertising. A recent study shows the following: Only 20% believe what a company has to say. Only 16% believe what a business’ manager or CEO has to say. And, if you have a social media manager or use a member of your staff to do your social media marketing, then you’ll be interested to know that only 18% believe what an employee of the company says.
And that’s where Team Las Olas enters the scene. Your article is seen as an independent review of your business. It’s not you saying ‘we’re the best’ it’s a third party saying ‘these guys are the best’. Then it goes even further when we spread the word via social media, the same applies.
We write a mix of articles on our Las Olas website. There are history features, events, live slideshows, recipes, Q & A … we’re not a site that purely writes about our local businesses. That’s why people come back to our site and why they follow us on social media. They do believe us
